Connection

Connection happens between parents and children when kids know they are loved, known, and enjoyed no matter how they behave. The communication of the messages you speak to your newborn baby throughout their lifetime are the starting place for Connection. – “I love you! You are a miracle! I’m so glad to be your parent!” These messages have no conditions. They are timeless. But as kids grow, they can get lost in other messages like, “You’re naughty! What’s wrong with you!” Or, “Why don’t you shape up!”

Connected kids are confident and secure. They don’t feel the need to “act out” to get approval.

Disconnected kids lack confidence and security. They will behave however they have to get attention and acceptance from others.

  • Give frequent undivided attention.
